How to configure Easy Sync

Transfer your files from your Windows Phone with Easy Sync Software.

  • USB- Connect your Windows Phone 7 to your PC and turn on the Zune Software (Zune only needed for Windows Phone 7). Start Yivosoft Easy Sync, enter and optional password. On your Windows Phone, click on the configure Icon. Enter a Title, Enter the IP address found on the Easy Sync software and Port Number. If you entered a password in the Easy Sync software you will also have to enter the same password. If you enter more than one Server to connect to, slide over to the Server List screen and double tap the current server you want to use.

  • Wifi-Follow the same directions as you did for the USB Connections, Zune software isn’t required to run for Wi-Fi. If you are running Windows Firewall you will have to be sure the port you are using is open under inbound Rules. Easy Sync software will attempt to open the port for you. See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-a-port-in-Windows-Firewall to open your firewall.
    ** If you have a 3rd party Firewall or Antivirus that blocks network traffic you will need to open the firewall up.

  • Internet-Follow the same directions as you did for Wi-Fi. If you are using a router you will need to configure Port Forwarding. See http://www.wikihow.com/Set-up-Port-Forwarding-on-a-Router for an example. Each router is different, see your owner’s manual for your setup. You will then need to create a new server under the configuration screen in Yivosoft Drive. You will need to add the IP Address from your internet Provider. This will be different than the IP Address shown in the Easy Sync software. To find your Internet Service Provider’s IP address, Log into your router (see owner’s manual of your Router) Click here to find your WAN IP http://checkip.dyndns.org/ please note, unless you have a static IP Address from your ISP, this address can change. Some ISP will block some ports, you might need to test different ports or check with your ISP to see what ports are not blocked.

Still can't get it to work?

  • Check your IP Address, many computers have more than one IP address, you will need to be sure you have the right correct one. Easy Sync now gives you a drop down with all the IP's found on the computer, try them all or open a command prompt (start--> run--> CMD and type IPCONFIG and look for your IP4 Address
  • Check your router: Be sure you don't have traffic blocked on your wireless router. Normally keeping it at medium will work, for testing you may turn off your firewall to see if that is the problem.
  • Check 3rd Party Firewalls, Easy Sync only opens the Windows Firewall, try to disable your 3rd party firewall and or Windows firewall for testing (don't forget to turn it back on afterwards) If that is the problem, open the firewall for the inbound direction and port.
  • Bypass your proxy Server, at business they use Proxy Servers, you will need to bypasss.Please note that it is very common for companies to disable/Block network traffic at work for security reasons.

* You can have Yivosoft Easy Sync start up when windows starts up. Simply go to the install directory (example C:\Program Files (x86)\Yivosoft\Yivosoft Easy Sync or C:\Program Files\Yivosoft\Yivosoft Easy Sync and create a new shortcut by right clicking and create shortcut.  Then right click on the newly created shortcut and click properties.  Look for the box that is called target, add a space after the quotes and type hide. ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Yivosoft\Yivosoft Easy Sync\Yivosoft Easy Sync.exe" hide). Now you can drag this file into your windows startup folder.
